Everything I do, I do it for you...

Did anyone else sing the title of this blog? If you, you did, you are my people. Bryan Adams released "I do it for you" on June 17th, 1991, and if you haven't heard it before, shame on you, and I've attached the link above.

Ok Ok, I'll get to the point. I just want to make sure that everyone knows my true intensions while also bragging a moment of Peninsula College coursework I am wrapping up. I am currently finishing up Principles of Business with Rob Decou and (the part reason for this post) Social Media Marketing with Renne Emiko Brock. These classes have been a fun experience to validate my learnings already and better yet implement and strengthen my skills. Particularly the Social Media Marketing, I was given the task to take action and DO things!

Everything I do, I do it for you.

Just like Bryan Adams' lyrics say, "Everything I do, I do it for you". Yes, it is true. In class we focused on Metaliteracy, and how it applies to us. Metaliteracy is a new framework based around how to responsibility interact in social media and online platforms, by using things such as critical thinking and collaborations with the digital world. These are basic foundational learning we apply to our daily lives and were taught in primary school, but not have been adapted for application to our new world.

My dedication to you is that I will only provide the most accurate and up to date information possible, even things that do not apply directly to me. I plan to do this by assisting the community in different ways that will respectfully help them navigate the world a bit easier. (We could all use a little bit of easier in our lives.) I plan to update my website with the hood canal bridge updates for visitors who are coming into town. I will be adding links to other resources in the community like the Port Angeles and Sequim Chamber, the Port Angeles Content Calendar that has current and up to date events. I will also be taking any suggestion or requests from the community as to what you would like to see/utilize.

I'm not going to keep you much longer, but I wanted to really give a shout out to Renne Emiko Brock. She chose assignments that were very engaging and forced a sense of autonomy and confidence in myself during the class. I created updates on my website, focused on color palettes and trying new things, and focused on social media platforms I was really avoiding due to inexperience. Accountability resulted in Confidence. I didn't post too much that garnered attention, but it really made me contemplate my current actions and how to utilize my skills better. Rather than what I thought I needed versus reality, and the class honed in on breaking that perception barrier.

There is a lot of information being given in this, but I truly hope that you end with the understanding that I do all of the thing's business and social media related for YOU! I started this business journey for YOU as a community, I took these classes to better understand and succeed for YOU, and I plan to do everything I can to help and guide YOU through our time together in this digital world!

Signing Off,

Nic's Knack
