Growth isn't just for plants.

As I write this, I am finishing up my last few assignments for the quarter. I was asked to write about what had changed for me throughout the course. I was reflecting on the work we had done, all that I had learned and the reaffirmed prior knowledge. I will save you the boring parts and skip to the part where I collectively find myself seeking growth.

We already know that growth is good, so I won't make a huge argument for something we likely agree on. I will, although, explain what methods worked for me to achieve my goals.

  1. Goal Setting. We all learned about SMART goals in school. We all rolled our eyes and ignored the lesson. Well, I'm here to say, use it. It will help you to stay on track and set achievable goals.

  2. Post it! Post the goals so you can see them every day. If that means on your bathroom mirror, so be it. If you look at your planner every day to make sure you get everything accomplished, then why not your goals too?

  1. Accountability. Find the best way to hold yourself accountable. If this means setting deadlines, providing yourself with rewards, using apps or materials/systems, or even other people, then do it. Do what you need to do to succeed.

These are the top three things I did during this course to make sure I achieved my goals. You find out what works best for you and do it! Use your techniques to keep growing and achieving goals no matter how big or small.

Good Luck,
